Webinar Q&A: How You Can Get More Effective Email Campaigns i…

Email is
holding strong and becoming an even more dominant channel to connect with
consumers. Each year, marketers develop new ways to make email even more
powerful. In last week’s webinar we discussed email marketing trends for 2018,
best practices to getting started and much more.
We didn’t have
time to get to all of the questions during the live webinar, so we have created
a webinar Q&A round-up.
Here are some of the questions asked by Campaigner
#1 What are the best practices for successful email
subject lines?

The best email
subject lines tend to be specific, short and compelling. Set expectations up
front and let the email content do the rest. Testing will also allow you to
figure out what resonated with your own subscriber list.
#2 How often should I send emails to my email list?

This varies
depending on the industry and engagement. Research has shown the optimal
frequency to email your subscribers is one to four times a month.
You can keep
increasing your send frequency as much as you want, but be mindful of your open
and unsubscribe rates. When your engagement starts to decline, you know you are
mailing your subscribers too much.
#3 I’m interested in dynamic content, is this
something that can be done within Campaigner?

#4 You talked about editorial content and how
important it is to email your subscribers with some sort of value instead of
always selling. What tips can you give to a business that is just starting out?

We would say
keep it simple! Look around at the other channels you have available to you, do
you have content on your site? Or maybe a blog? Sending an editorial email
doesn’t have to be long. It can be as simple as sending a quick “tip of the
day” or a “did you know?” email. Remember, the value in an editorial emails are
to show the customers that you are human and not just someone looking to make a
dime off them (even if you are!) It could even be as easy as linking back to a happy customer review on one of your social media channels. The opportunities
are endless!
#5 How can I build trust with my subscribers?

with your subscribers is very important, but does require some work on your

quick tips:
  • Accommodate
    customers on the go and confirm emails are optimized for mobile. Nothing looks
    worse than an email that cannot be read/opened on mobile devices.
  • Include full
    sender details in your footer including your company name & physical address.
    This is also important for CAN-SPAM and CASL laws, as well as the upcoming GDPR regulations in May.
  • Add a personal
    touch and use realistic language within your email campaigns.
  • Encourage
    feedback so that subscribers feel assured and know there’s an actual human
    sending the email. Make sure you reply to the feedback as well!
