Need a Breakthrough? Find the Right Balance of Creative and Strat…

For the marketing writer or business owner in 2019, deciding between strategic and creative is a luxury we can no longer afford.

Giving rein to our creative individuality will set us apart and help us stand out in the vast sea of content. But we also want to be purposeful and strategic about how we’re spending our time.

This week, we offered three posts that will nourish your creative side — while giving your strategic brain room to develop creative ideas into powerful strategies.

Stefanie Flaxman started us off by talking about how damaging rigidity can be to creative work (like writing, marketing, or running a business).

She turns “my way or the highway” to:

“My way, or we could take the scenic route. Let’s open ourselves up to the best option.”

Check out her post to help you find more creative flexibility — while staying true to your vision and important goals.

Kickstarter is an incredible tool for launching creative projects — but it’s not a simple undertaking. On Tuesday, Sean Jackson, CFO and one of our founding partners at Copyblogger Media, dropped by to talk about some of the lessons he’s learned from running his first Kickstarter campaign.

From budgeting to time management to thoughts on getting all of that video produced, Sean shares his most valuable insights and tips.

And on Wednesday, I wrote about making the decision to bring in a strong professional writer — even if you already feel good about your own writing ability. Strong writing can be a significant investment, and this post will help you know you’re making that investment for the right reasons.

Finally, don’t forget to pick up your THINKERS Notebooks this week! These are great tools for strategic and creative thinkers to plan and develop projects.

Send us your pledge for at least two notebooks no later than this Monday, March 11, 2019, and we’ll invite you to our private creativity workshop.

I’ll be walking you through how to capture, nurture, and refine your ideas, and break through impostor syndrome and creative blocks, using a physical notebook as a “Portable Writer’s Studio.”

I’m looking forward to seeing you there!
